A single dwelling development, of a modest garden within the centre of the historic village of Effingham to provide much needed family accommodation for the local area.

The brief

Our brief was to provide a single family home on the existing modest and isolated garden adjacent to White Cottage in the heart of Effingham and next to an existing Methodist Church.

As the site was located within the Effingham Conservation Area, the proposals needed to respect the local materials, vernacular and important buildings. The elevated location adjacent to a popular route through Effingham meant the proposals would be in a highly visible location.

What we did

This exemplary development resulted from:

Preparation of a full planning package including co-ordination with 3rd party specialist consultants through the planning process.

Application submission and negotiation with the Local Planning Authority and Conservation Officer.

Production of full working drawings and construction details.

Co-ordination with Local Authority Building Control
